Alexander Zverev denies ex-girlfriend's claims of assault
Tennis star under investigation by ATP following allegations
Statement from Zverev:
"I unequivocally deny these baseless allegations," Zverev said in a statement. "I have never abused or assaulted any woman, and I am shocked that such a claim is being made against me."
The allegations are being investigated by the ATP, the governing body of men's professional tennis. The ATP has not yet commented on the investigation.
Zverev is one of the top-ranked tennis players in the world. He has won 19 ATP titles, including the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medal. He is currently ranked No. 2 in the world.
