Man Was Reportedly Trapped In Basement

Firefighters Unable To Save Him

One man has died after a house fire near Dassel, Minnesota, on Thursday, April 20, 2023. The fire was reported at around 11:30 p.m. at a home on the 16000 block of County Road 12.

When firefighters arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames. They were able to extinguish the fire, but not before it had caused significant damage to the home.

Firefighters found the body of a man in the basement of the home. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 62-year-old David Lee Olson. Olson lived in the home with his wife, who was able to escape the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. However, fire officials say that it does not appear to be suspicious.

The Dassel Fire Department was assisted by the Hutchinson Fire Department, the Cokato Fire Department, and the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.
